If that title isn’t a tongue twister, then I don’t know what is! With that said, on Sunday the 30th of April that is exactly what I did, surrounded by my beautiful friends and family in celebration of turning another year older, and nonetheless wiser. Sunday sessions at Hotel Sorrento are a weekly event, buzzing with good vibes and music through the summer months. As my birthday happens to fall in the colourful season of Autumn, there wasn’t as many attendees at this stylishly luxurious Mornington Peninsula venue, but we weren’t complaining!

With an espresso martini in hand, bowls of chips awaiting consumption and a good group of people, we laughed, took photographs and chatted among the casual yet lifestyle saturated environment that is ‘The Salt Bar’. Located on the decking of the venue, Salt bar has its own bar, scattered tables and stunning bay views while draped in gorgeous green plants- making it the perfect spot for a photo opportunity. As you can see, we did that part well!

My go-to cocktail when I visit Hotel Sorrento is their famous frozé, which is frozen rosé if you weren’t too sure. Decorated with flowers, this is the drink of the summer. If you are after something a little heartier I have also enjoyed a glass (or bottle or two), from their large selection of red wines, most of which are locally produced. When restaurants support local it gives us all more reason to attend and support our gorgeous little community here on the Peninsula. Another go-to of mine is the cheese platter, which is not only delicious, but affordable too. Paired with a glass of wine and the stunning view, you really can’t go wrong with visiting this clifftop hotel. Even better, it is open 7 days a week from 7.30am till late, so if you are after a spontaneous adventure that also allows you to drive down the peninsula then add this to your list. Any day of the week you can enjoy all that is Hotel Sorrento.

Being locally owned, this multi-level restaurant offers its visitors a unique Mornington Peninsula experience that oozes our sought after lifestyle. Whether you are after some quiet drinks with a gorgeous view, a hearty meal, somewhere warm to watch the football during winter, or somewhere perfect to watch the sun go down and listen to good music while sipping on cocktails in the summer time- Hotel Sorrento caters for all your needs. Modern dining with an old-world charm- isn’t hard to see why this iconic venue has been home to countless functions, including weddings. With various packages available, one of which being the ‘Salt’ booth as pictured above, your next event can be truly amazing and different from the norm. Can you believe it gets better?  The heritage limestone building also offers luxurious accommodation and has an in-house day spa. Did someone say pamper time? With mother’s day creeping up, I think pamper time is exactly what we all need- and our mother’s of course… any excuse for a massage, obviously!
