I have found perhaps the most extensive wine list on the Mornington Peninsula, ladies and gents, and it awaits you within the charming community of Flinders. The Village Cafe & Wine Bar is set to be a favourite for all you wine connoisseur's out there, literally offering pages and pages of local and imported wines to suit any palate. Furthermore, the knowledge of the lovely staff makes your wine-tasting experience as pleasing as it gets with their recommendations on the perfect partnering dishes. We had David, the owner of this great cafe and bar, give us his expert advice and I encourage you do the same.

I attended the Village Cafe and Wine Bar on a sunny Sunday afternoon with my sister, partner, and furry, four-legged child, Sizzle the sausage dog. Yes, the outdoor area is pet friendly, which makes this venue perfect for a family outing- pups and all. With expansive outdoor seating at the front, both completely exposed as well as sheltered, guests are able to enjoy the fresh air no matter the weather. Inside, guests are able to sit by the windows which allow the most beautiful natural light to enter the cafe, or, on the colder days, by the fire. Lucky for me, we were blessed with the perfect conditions, which meant we could bask in that almost-spring sunshine while sipping on glasses of mouth watering pinot noir. For lunch, I ordered the grilled squid with chilli, and for a seafood lover like myself, it most definitely ticked all the boxes. Served on a bed of fresh rocket and drizzled with lemon juice, this dish was fresh, light and oh so yummy.

The menu at Village Cafe & Wine Bar offers a range of meals from your breakfast fuel of eggs and bacon to your evening dinner of creamy lasagne, each carefully constructed to tantalise those tastebuds and have you appreciating this local, family-run business. Whether you are after a Humpday feed, a Friday nibble, or a substantial Saturday meal- the menu has you covered and will no doubts leave you very content. Open seven days a week, 8am to 4pm, the wine bar 5pm until late Friday and Sunday and the beer garden Friday from 3pm and Saturday at midday, no matter the occasion, time or weather, there is something for you to do at Village Cafe and Wine Bar, any day of the week.

Now enough of stating the obvious- all which you will experience yourself when you visit, right!? Let's talk business: Village Cafe & Wine Bar's new beer garden. This is the spot to be this summer! With an outdoor bar, fabulous drink specials to celebrate the warm weather, as well as entertainment, there are no reasons to not heard your friends to Flinders for some laughs shared over drink or two... or three. Even better, if you have an upcoming special event but don't know what to do or where to go, simply contact Village Cafe and Wine Bar to arrange your 'night'- or day, to remember, with their accomodating function options.

Break the norm and disrupt the motions of life by wine and dining at this great local cafe and bar. Whether it be for a special date night, a catch-up with an old friend or a day out with your puppy in the sun with some coffee- this is the place visit!
