The three key ingredients to any birthday! While my birthday this year was not one of too much importance- no milestones here people!- I was still sure to at least act like it was a very, very special achievement. I'm one of those "birthday month" kind of people... don't hate me for it. So without further ado, let's talk birthday celebrations!
There truly is nothing I love more than when contemporary creativity is partnered with good food and good wine (...and beer). The result of this fabulous collaboration is something along the lines of... St Andrews Beach Brewery. And that, my friends, is where I celebrated the event of me turning yet another year older and not at all wiser. Think: chic meets horse stables meets beer garden. Yes, I'm serious!
Once upon a time 160 Sandy Road, Fingal, was a renowned horse training facility. Now, this stunning peninsula location is home to the peninsula's newest brewery. If you haven't visited, VISIT. If you have visited, plan your NEXT VISIT. I know I already am. But, before we get ahead of ourselves, let me tell you about my experience. I'll give you a hint- it was a good one.
For larger groups booking a booth is a must. With no cost to you, St Andrews Beach Brewery will cater to you, and your friends, every needs. The booths are situated within the old horse stables, which have undergone a little renovation of course. To eat and drink within stables that have produced over 100 Group One winning horses, including multiple Melbourne Cup, Caufield Cup, Cox Plate Golden Slipper winning horses, truly is a unique experience. I loved that as well as oozing history, the booths also offered a stylish space of combined indoor and outdoor vibes- being well covered from the weather, with vibrant green ivy lined walls. It makes for a great space to celebrate, chat, drink and eat. And a great photo op too, but who thinks about that when booking their birthday venue...
As I am not much of a beer drinker myself, I stuck to the sparkling. Because sparkling is for celebrating. And I was celebrating, duh. So it was so pleasing to see the brewery supporting local wineries by selling their wines alongside their craft beer. Thankfully, my partner loves a beer, so I can confirm that the 6 Furlongs Pale Ale is a smooth beer that you just gotta try!
For food, you can't go wrong with the burger. After all, burger starts with B and beer starts with B, so... you get the picture. However, the menu is quite expansive and is suited for lovers of seafood, lovers of pizza, vegetarians, vegans and, you! Booking is essential, so be sure to call 5988 6854 to lock in your next dining experience.
I really couldn't have picked a better spot. With twenty of my nearest and dearest friends and family by my side, we all enjoyed delicious food and great beer and wine, all in the Autumn sunshine. My dad could even watch the footy within the booth, which he was pretty happy about. Dads, right!?
Now, to the important stuff. There is plenty of parking, as well as golf carts that will commute you from your car spot- if you're not lucky enough to secure one close to the entrance, to the front steps of the brewery. The times I have attended the brewery have all proved that it is a popular place- I would recommend you book before arriving, or, simply keep in mind that it is a buzzing venue full of good vibes and good people! Open 12pm to 5pm Monday to Wednesday, 12pm tp 7pm Friday, and 11am to 7pm Saturday and Sunday, the brewery is ready for those knock off drinks you totally deserve.
A chic, unique and new brewery here on the beautiful peninsula... I'll drink to that!
